Profelis Consulting
A Polish software business that has been building and exporting engineering work since 2019. ASTIN is its own product — developed with the same practice that delivers its client work, and prompted by a problem its founder ran into personally.
How ASTIN came about
The company’s regular work is software engineering delivered from Poland to clients abroad: bespoke systems, web platforms and e-commerce, with R&D on the products it owns. Qualifying intellectual property in computer programs is settled under the Polish IP Box regime, which requires the underlying development to be documented as research and development rather than asserted.
ASTIN did not begin as a market opportunity. Lars Astor bought a property abroad, ran it in co-ownership with an independent minority investor, operated it remotely through local subcontractors, and eventually took that investor through an exit completed before a notary. Every part of that was manageable except the administration, which ran on spreadsheets and goodwill.
The product is the tooling that was missing, built by a software practice that already ships for a living and happened to have a live asset to test against.

How the work is organised
A small practice, deliberately. Engineering and product are in-house; regulated and market-specific work is delivered with local specialists in each jurisdiction.
Lars Astor
Founder and product lead of ASTIN; proprietor of Profelis Consulting
Lars Astor writes the software, delivered the export engagements described above, and personally ran the Gran Canaria co-ownership from acquisition through to the minority investor’s exit. Product decisions, engineering and partner conversations currently sit with the same person — which is the honest description of a business of this size, and the reason a first engagement is deliberately scoped to one asset.
Platform architecture, domain model, workflow design and the implementation itself.
Export delivery since 2019, cross-border contracting and IP commercialisation.
Legal, tax, brokerage and licensed operations are engaged locally in each jurisdiction rather than held in-house.
